show where Ireland’s up ‘n coming designers showcased their talents under one roof.
From accessible, cute yellow shifts to couture-like bridal gowns, there’s a lot of promise
for Irish fashion yet. Aine Kilbride, Amy McAlinden, Jean Melia and Su Yung are hot names to watch.

Kildare Village Outlet hosted the 8th brunch with a shopping trip thrown in for kicks. Cute coral skirt in Reiss for less than half the original price. Also great discounts in Nike, Levi’s and All Saints. Worth the 25min train trip.

Dublin Fashion Week starts tomorrow and the schedule is jam-packed with talks, awards and shows, most of them open to the public as well as the press. Watch out for the seminar with Sunday Independent Fashion Ed Constance Harris on Tuesday at 1pm in the Radisson SAS Royal Hotel, Dublin 8. And don’t forget the collective catwalk show showcasing current Autumn/Winter 08 collections is also open to the public for €75 in the chq building, IFSC this Wednesday! Topman’s Lens gets ready for Autumn!
I love men’s clothes, I even find myself sneaking into Topman sometimes and buying the odd hat or lumberjack shirt for myself leave alone for the men in my life. Now Topman has announced the second season of a designer project called Lens with a sixth hot, new young designer added to the collective- Kasper Harup – Hansen. His collection for Lens is “about volume, craftsmanship, size, and silhouettes. Cotton over sized shirts are teamed with cropped waistcoats, layered with a bomber jacket, and completed with a slim cut trouser. An assortment of wools, leathers and cottons make the collection diverse in texture as well as proportions.”
