As the local art, design and grassroot project-scene is expanding day by day or rolling into a snowball, it’s great to see yet another homegrown, creative and entrepreneurial initiative in the mix. Because if there’s one thing we need more in Ireland it’s more choice. Enter Project A Apparel, a new T-Shirt design company based in Dublin set up by two Irish kids who are big into their urban art, street wear and graffiti-inspired design. In fact if you like Banksy check ‘em out. Plus the new tees are fair-trade and carbon neutral too. You’ve got conscience and you look cool. What more d’ya want?

Tshirts going for only €25 a pop. The launch is being held this Friday May 9th in the Bernard Shaw. Pop on down to check out the artwork and get a special discount while you’re at it too.

A collective of artists and designers based in Ireland have got together to form a clothing and accessory design company that puts a fresh spin on T-shirt fashion. The guys at Turtlehead have brought their creative forces together to fulfill a niche in the Irish fashion market with a unique and innovative clothing alternative that offers slightly left-of-field graphic art and slightly offbeat designs on Tshirts, hoodies and accessories.

If you’re sick of the so-called ironic tees and tacky prints from high-street stores, notch up some street cred points by checking out this funky design company who describe their designs as ‘part social-commentary, part public art, part rant’. All T-shirts are limited up to 500 pieces printed in Ireland on 100% cotton. What’s more 5% of the profit is donated to a charity of your choice. So, if you’re still searching for that elusive Christmas gift for a picky boyfriend or you’re indie girlfriend, check out Turtlehead or pop down to The Loft Market in Powerscourt Centre. The prices are not so bad either considering what you may pay up for a mass-proudced Tee in your usual favourite high-street store.

Model Behavior

River Island/OK Magazine Style Event, men's fashion, model, t shirt, tailored 2 Comments »

Irish fashion models prove that they don’t need to be on a catwalk to show off their style. We caught up with a few up and coming faces. Eoin Dillon, left, who has worked in London and New York, models his style with Graham Cruz, Fashion Stylist. Eoin pairs a funky t shirt with stuck on collar, a post-modern take on the shirt and tie combo.

Nasrin Leahy, a new Irish model, stunned us with her Parisienne Chic look. We loved her ability to layer while maintaining a chic femininity.

Andy Furlong, left, with his friend, DJ Brian Taaffe. Both guys show some fantastic style, and we especially love Andy’s cardigan w/shirt and tie. We like this trend!

Lovely Ladies at the RI/OK event

River Island/OK Magazine Style Event, Topshop, skinnies, t shirt, tailored No Comments »

Amy Jordan is a student of photography and pairs platforms and skinnies with an urban look. Her hoodie is from Topshop and has a gorgeous sequin detail at the back!

Nichola Routledge works for an IT company. With this tailored and sophisticated look, she could have walked off the set of Ugly Betty!

Katie McLoughlin, a River Island employee, sports a gorgeously feminine dress with sequin detail at the top. Flower prints are another fav of the season. This dress if from River Island.

Eleanor Hession, also a River Island employee goes for the current popular trend of the bold type print on the long tshirt over skinnies.
