Ireland’s first ever ethical fashion week is in it’s second year and a host of sartorial events are planned from Crafternoon tea to National Swap Say on May 2nd.

With many people dropping the high street in favour of handmade, second hand and freshly swapped clothes,  this might just be a more unique and informative way to shop. This year the student designers had to use Nokia’s latest handset the Supernova as an inspiration for their designs. Result: highly conceptual shapes in PVC, tafetta, nylon, structured necklines, hemlines, and sleeves, lots of black, neon, navy…it’s always intersting to see how a an inanimate object like a phone can inspire sometimes fluid, moving, shining, pretty clothes. Thumbs up to all the students for a job well done.
