FitFlops!

Yup you read it right, not flip-flops, but FitFlops. They’re calling it the new flip-flop with a gym built-in and it’s launching in Ireland today. Forget rock-hard soles, knife-like straps making incisions in your flesh and ankle sprains, this new kind of flip-flop merges three different types of foam in the middle of the sole to work your leg and bum muscles. This footwear has been tested to provide more comfort in walking and tone your legs and thighs at the same time.
They kind of sound similar to the MBT runners that were all the rage a few years ago. MBT claimed to help weight-reduction, tone muscles and improve posture as well. I have never tried any of this new ‘physiological-footwear’ myself so I can’t attest to it’s results but have any of you bought something similar? Does it really work? I haven’t tried the MBTs or the sandals, as I do a lot of walking on the treadmill. I do like the metallic colors though.

Started to wear these FitFlops on Tues of this week, and now on Friday, have to say they are brilliant. I suffer with my knees and back, and have had no trouble so far since I start using them. They are a wonderful invention. One thing though, the small piece which slips between your toes can seem a tiny bit rough when you first put then on, but after a day of wearing them, this softens out. So give them a chance, they really are great.
Also Powerscourt Townhouse Centre, at the back of Grafton Street are the only shop I know of so far who are selling them. They cost €55.

Do any of the stores in Dublin have the electra gold fit flops in stock? I was told by Arnotts that they would have them early June, but Brazil Body said last week in June??
I ordered my fit flops electra on line at Runningbare.co.uk… The only thing was when they came they were too big.. Seem to be big fitting so watch out for that.
Lovely idea – only wish they were organic. I run a small website selling the Ziggy Flip Flop and the Flynn Flip Flop. They are totally natural but without exercising you as you wear..unless you walk miles in them!!

I have been addicted to MBTs since I first wore them 2 years ago this month. They do all they say on the packet- are incredibly comfortable to wear, definitely tone and exercise thigh and hips and you can walk forever in them.Only problem is they are super-ugly but so comfortable that they ruin other shoes forever- at least my feet just won’t tolerate heels any more. So Im definitely going to buy these fit flops.Are there any other comfortable , attractive shoes out there- preferably ones with a platform as I need the extra height
