The Loft Market has so far been kept a well-hidden secret, cocooned up in a loft at the Powerscourt Centre. For those in the know, this New-York style fashion market has been running since October 2006 when stylist Aisling Farinella (above) decided to bring Ireland’s most progressive and creative talent to the masses. But alas with it’s official launch last Saturday, it’s a secret no more. Every Saturday and Sunday from 12-6pm, local and international designers showcase their wares at The Loft in Powerscourt Centre.

Saturday afternoons also feature live DJs so pop along to catch a glimpse of what Ireland will be wearing tomorrow.

Emma Manley was one of the many young and talented designers who showed their collections at The Loft Market on Saturday. Emma’s one-year old label Manley focuses on urban streetwear and feminine evening-wear dresses

Aisling Ahern’s distinct style incorporates bold prints with block-coloured pieces in fuschia, blue

Shireen McDonagh’s high-waisted skirt with a poodle-print top works wonders with tights and brown boots. The muted colour palette brings out the pale peach of the top as well.

Clare bought her top in Paris, which she wears with a denim skirt, leggings and flats. Loved the way her hairstyle complimented the top
